| It’s been 1.5 months since the academic year started. Facing many new challenges this year and a bit heavier workload. Always felt tired after work due to nonstop walking up and down the floors and in-class teaching. I’ve become a half teacher already, coz half of my lessons from my timetable are in-class teaching, which is very exhausting as I have to speak loudly, (well, sometimes shouting) for a long time. It’s really abusing my voice. An ST don’t know how to use her voice properly. What an irony! Anyway, I felt really elated to see the improvements of my students. Most of them DO improve in DISCERNIBLE ways!!!!! I’ve never been so HAPPY to have BARGAIN with people. One of my autistic kids BARGAINED with ME!!!! You know what BARGAINS means to an autistic kid? It’s a REAL COMMUNCIATION and INFORMATION EXCHANGE, which is REALLY PRECIOUS for them! I’m also happy to see one of the kids with MUCH, MUCH more STABLE emotions. No shouting, temper tantrums during treatment sessions. This is SUCH a BIG LEAP for him. I’m also grateful to hear that one of the girls said that she likes me MOST for having lesson! I’m also delighted to have little P.1 kids holding my hands spontaneously to express friendliness and recognition of me. I’m also joyful to see some of the nonverbal kids to NOD their head in respond to my questions like “Do you understand” or “Do you want this or that?”. It seems really simple, but you know what, HEAD NOD involves a lot, like dissociate your head movement from your body, comprehension of the question, the concept of turn taking, the intention for communication, and so on!! I’m also pleased to see how BIG (in terms of their physiques) our kids become, which means that they become happier and healthier. Aren’t kids lovely?: YES, they DO and in MANY, MANY WAYS!!!!!!!!!! | | |

| We went to the Moomin Valley in Finland on Tue and guess what I see? We were the rarest type in the sea of blonds (but rare because of our age). Blond little kids everywhere and YOUNG parents everywhere (really young, we wondered how come the Finnish can get marry and have children in such a young age, we´d better hurry up!) So ´wun hing´to see daughters sitting on Daddy´s shoulder and tall Daddy and little daughter trying hard to hold their hands when they walk! Anyway, we were drown by SO MANY cute little blond kids and we were just TOO old for the Moomin Valley (nothing was designed for us to ´play with´). However, the natural scenery in Finland was superb. We had our theme of ´trekking´ in the three days we stayed!!! (that´s the reason why I won´t go trekking in HK, too much for the whole year already!) Ah, the world´s so small that I MET one of my colleagues at school, isn´t it amazing? Stockholm´s also gorgeous! It´s known as the Venice of the Northern Europe! However, they use ´Yao Tang´ instead of the Gondolas! So cool and so rich!!! Stockholm has more of the auror of Europe than Finland. We saw lots of monuments built in the Gothic style and they were just so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!Will try to go to the IKEA today and see how BIG it can be as our guide book said people may easily get lost inside the shop!! Cool, isn´t it? | | |
